National Technology Day 2026

The Department of Basic Sciences, SISTec, successfully celebrated National Technology Day 2026 on 11 May 2026 through an insightful expert session on the theme “Responsible Innovation for Inclusive Growth.”The session was delivered by Dr. Gaurav Dwivedi, Assistant Professor, MANIT, who shared valuable perspectives on technological advancements, innovation-driven development, and the importance of responsible technology in addressing contemporary societal challenges. He
highlighted the need to balance technological progress with social responsibility, sustainability, inclusivity, and ethical considerations. The session encouraged students to understand the broader impact of emerging technologies and inspired them to develop innovative solutions that can contribute to inclusive and sustainable growth. It also enhanced students’ awareness of the role of technology in nation- building and encouraged them to adopt a responsible approach towards innovation. The programme successfully promoted technical awareness, innovative thinking, social responsibility, and sustainable development, inspiring students to contribute towards building a technologically empowered and inclusive society.

World Creativity & Innovation Day

SISTec successfully celebrated World Creativity and Innovation Day on 21 April 2026, providing students with an engaging platform to showcase their creativity, innovation, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities. The event featured two major categories: “Junk Genius” (Hardware) and “Code and Craft” (Software). Students participated enthusiastically and presented innovative ideas, practical prototypes, and software-based solutions that reflected originality and technical competence. Dr. Vasima Khan, Professor and Head, Department of CSE-AIDS and Professor, Mechanical Engineering, served as the resource person and provided valuable guidance and encouragement to the participants. Her interaction with the students helped promote innovative thinking and practical approaches to problem-solving. The event enhanced students’ creativity, teamwork, technical knowledge, communication, and presentation skills, while encouraging them to transform innovative ideas into practical
solutions. The programme successfully fostered an innovation-driven learning environment, and all winners and participants were appreciated for their enthusiastic contribution.

Amplifying Research Profile with Intellectual Property Rights

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Sagar Group of Institutions - SISTec Ratibad, in collaboration with the Institutional Innovation Council (IIC), recently organized a highly successful workshop on Amplifying Research Profile with Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). This workshop was generously sponsored by the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MPCST Bhopal).
The workshop featured a distinguished lineup of speakers who shared their expertise and insights on various aspects of IPR. In the first session, Dr. Sandeep Singhai, a renowned Ph.D. holder in Engineering from CSIR-AMPRI Bhopal, delved into the technical aspects of IPR in recent technology. His presentation shed light on the intricacies of protecting intellectual property in the rapidly evolving technological landscape.
The second session was led by Dr. Atul Pandey, a distinguished professor of Cyber Law and the Head of the Department of Cyber Law at NLIU Bhopal. Dr. Pandey provided valuable insights into the legal aspects of IPR in the present scenario. His expertise in the field of cyber law added a unique perspective to the workshop, highlighting the importance of safeguarding intellectual property in the digital age.
Mrs. Puja Vikas Maulikar, an Examiner of Patents & Designs from RGNIIPM Nagpur, Maharashtra, interacted with the audience for the third session. She engaged the participants in a discussion about the examination process for patents and designs, emphasizing the need to avoid discrepancies with existing designs. Her expertise in this area provided participants with practical knowledge on how to navigate the patent examination process effectively.
The final session was conducted by Mr. Vikash Asawat, a Registered Patent & Trademark Attorney from Kota, Rajasthan. Mr. Asawat enlightened the participants on the different types of IPR, including copyrights, patents, and trademarks. He also provided valuable guidance on how to file patents and copyrights, equipping the participants with the necessary knowledge to protect their intellectual property.
The workshop on "Amplifying Research Profile with IPR" was a resounding success, with participants gaining valuable insights into the various aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). The speakers were experts in their respective fields and provided clear and concise explanations of the complex concepts involved. The participants were actively engaged throughout the workshop and had the opportunity to ask questions and clarify their doubts. The workshop was a valuable learning experience for all participants and will undoubtedly help them to protect their research innovations.

Intellectual Property Rights and IP Management for Startups

The IIC SISTec-R hosted a session on "Intellectual Property Rights and IP Management for Startups" in honor of World IPR Day. The Institutional Innovation Cell organized the event, which featured two distinguished speakers: Dr. N. K. Choubey (Senior Principal Scientist, Head, Intellectual Facilitation Center, Patent Information Center and Technology Management Center, MPCST Bhopal) and Prof. Kshitij Yugbodh (Associate Professor and Head of Mechanical Engineering Department, SISTec Ratibad Campus).
During the session, attendees gained valuable insights into the importance of protecting intellectual property and managing it effectively for the success of their startups. Dr. Choubey shared his expertise on the subject, highlighting the various legal aspects of IP and the steps that startups can take to safeguard their ideas. Meanwhile, Prof. Yugbodh provided practical advice on IP management, drawing on his experience with publishing 17 patents.
Overall, the session was a great success, providing attendees with a wealth of knowledge and practical tips to help them navigate the complex world of intellectual property. IIC SISTec-R is committed to supporting startups and entrepreneurs in their journey toward success, and events like this are just one of the many ways in which they do so.

Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property

IIC SISTec Ratibad organized an Expert Talk on "Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property" by Resource Person Ms.Himani Vashist (Technology Officer, FITT - IIT Delhi). The conversation initiated with explaining the types of IPR namely patents, trademarks, and copyrights. She further went on to discuss in detail: transforming ideas into opportunity, key elements in technology transfer, technology transfer model licensing to industrial use, technology transfer process steps, and more. The session was very much interactive and very fruitful too, as the topic was very much concerned about students' innovations and their submission so that they can protect their own rights too.
