National Science Day 2026 Celebration at SISTec Ratibad

Sagar Group of Institutions - SISTec Ratibad celebrated National Science Day 2026 on the theme: "Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat." The event was catalysed and supported by Madhya Pradesh Council of Science & Technology, MPCST Bhopal, aiming to bridge the gender gap in STEM and align scientific innovation with the national vision of a developed India.
To foster a spirit of inquiry and creativity among students, the celebration featured a series of competitive events designed to highlight the intersection of gender equality and scientific progress:
• SciSpark: A high-energy Science Quiz Competition testing students' technical knowledge.
• Science Has No Gender, Innovation Has No Limits: A vibrant Poster Making Competition showcasing visual narratives of inclusivity.
• An Essay Writing Competition on "Empowering Women in STEM: Accelerating the Vision of Viksit Bharat," where students explored the strategic role of women in the nation's growth.
The event also featured three distinguished keynote sessions that linked the role of women in science to the broader goals of energy security and national development.
• Dr. Shivalika Sarkar, Associate Professor in Physics, Regional Institute of Education, Bhopal, highlighted how gender-diverse research teams drive more robust scientific outcomes, ultimately strengthening the nation’s intellectual capital, speaking on the topic “Empowered Women, Empowered Science & Empowered Bharat”.
• Dr. Prashant V. Baredar, Professor at MANIT Bhopal, delivered a talk on “Role of Renewable Energy in Viksit Bharat,” providing an in-depth look at how India’s transition to clean energy is a cornerstone of the 'Viksit Bharat' roadmap.
• Dr. Dinesh Ramchandani, Vice Principal, SISTec-R, Bhopal, spoke on “Green Energy: Driving India’s Journey Towards Viksit Bharat,” discussing the practical implementation of green technologies and the importance of academic institutions in leading the sustainability movement.
The celebrations concluded with a prize distribution ceremony. In the Poster Making Competition, Himanshu Raj secured the first position, followed by Adarsh Shukla in second place. The Essay Writing Competition saw Isha Mewada take the top honors, with Nancy Rathod earning the runner-up spot. Finally, the SciSpark Quiz Competition saw Mahir Solanki emerge as the champion, and Mansum Mewda secure second place.
