'You are stronger than you think you are.'
Sagar Group of Institutions-SISTec celebrated International Women's Day on 8th March with energy, love and honour for womanhood. SISTec believes women do not limit their challenges, they challenge their limits by constantly moulding themselves to become more confident, smart, conscious and more importantly independent individuals.
To take inspiration from stories of women taking control of their own destiny, Ms. Sufiya Faruqui & Ms. Nidhi Nivedita, IAS Officer of MP Cadre were invited as the guests for the programme. Students presented a devotional dance as a token of welcome.
Ms. Nidhi Nivedita in her enlightening address focused on the representation of women in decision making and how stereotypes created by the society act as obstacles in removing gender biases. She also urged that women should come out of their comfort zone and learn new things.
In a very impactful and inspiring address, Ms. Sufiya Faruqui sensitively talked about how women in society are subjected to harassment, violence and assault even today which is a major reason of depression and other psychological disorders commonly observed among women. She showed a mirror to the gathering on how women still lack professional, political and social equality. She stressed on the fact that equality won't be served, it needs to be taken.
The vibrant presence of the guests was a genuine value addition to everyone's perspective.
