Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma) is a four year undergraduate academic program in the field of pharmacy. The study of pharmacy is mainly concerned with the action of drugs on biological systems and their applications for human drug therapy. The program prepares graduates for the contemporary role of the pharmacist in society ensuring that patients optimise medication usage. Pharmacists are becoming an integral part of the healthcare sector contributing to research and development on new drugs and medicines as well as supply of the said medications in the market. The degree of B.Pharm is essential to get registered as a pharmacist. Initial courses on chemical, physical, and biological studies lead to professional specialties in later years. Practical and clinical science studies begin in first year, providing students with a strong background in professional practice. The program integrates six streams of study: quality use of medication; dosage form design; social and professional aspects of pharmacy; drug discovery; biological fate of drugs; and data analysis in pharmacy.

B.Pharma course at Sagar Institute of Pharmacy and Technology (SIPTec) functions on the guidelines of Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) with academic affiliation to Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), the state university. The purpose of the design and conduct of B.Pharm course is to grant the complete knowledge to the student about entire process right from ideation stage to the marketing stage (to develop a drug its required dosage and how to make it available to the patients). The completion of B.Pharm degree from a PCI u/s 12 approved institute also makes the students eligible to get them registered under the respective State Pharmacy Council, which issues a registration certificate to the scholar.

Master of Pharmacy

The Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharma) is the standard master's degree program in Pharmacy. M.Pharm is a two year post graduate course in Pharmacy. The Master of Pharmacy practice focuses on specialisation in the field of pharmacy and is designed to extend the pharmacists’ knowledge and skills and aims to develop an informed appreciation of current and future roles in various areas of pharmacy practice including hospitals, community pharmacies, pharmaceutical industries, academia, regulatory bodies, and research organisations with better career opportunities. It is also governed by the guidelines of Pharmacy Council of India besides other required affiliations. The eligibility to take admission in the course is B.Pharm with specific requisites. The course is designed in a manner that it imparts an extensive knowledge of the subject as chosen by the student.
