Important Dates for JEE Main 2021

Minister of Education Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and the National Testing Agency (NTA) have announced that the JEE Main Exam 2021 will be conducted four times in the year 2021. Students who are eligible to appear for JEE Main 2021 can apply for the exam based on the dates given below. The official dates for JEE Main 2021 as per the official release by NTA is given in the below section for the reference.

JEE Main 2021 Exam Schedule

As per the latest update on Twitter by the Union Education Minister of India, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, it is confirmed that JEE Main 2021 exam will be held 4 times in a year, starting in February, followed by March, April and May. All candidates are advised to register for the JEE Mains 2021 well before the last date of JEE Main 2021 Registration. This new change has brought relaxation to all aspiring candidates as they have the option to appear for the JEE Main exam as per their convenience. JEE Main 2021 February Exam would be conducted from February 23, 2021 to February 26, 2021.The registrations have already started from 16th December 2020 onwards.

The JEE Main 2021 will be conducted in two shifts i.e.
First Shift: 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Second Shift: 03:00 PM to 06:00 PM

JEE Main 2021 February Session Schedule

Students who are going to appear in the exams must go through the schedule of the JEE Main 2021 February session to understand and prepare accordingly, how the various rounds of the exam are conducted. The timing of the two shifts in which the exam will be conducted are First shift from 09:00 am to 12:00 pm and Second shift from 03:00pm to 06:00 pm.

Before 2021, JEE Main exam was conducted in January; however, the latest update confirmed that the new 2021 session would be conducted in the month of February starting February 23, 2021, till February 26, 2021, owing to delays in Board Examinations throughout the country

JEE Main 2021 Exam Day Guidelines

National Testing Agency, i.e., NTA will organize the JEE Main exam 2021 as a computer-based test (CBT) across four sessions in the months of February, March, April and May. JEE Main will be conducted four times a year for all engineering aspirants starting 2021. While as an exception, the drawing section of Paper 2 (B.Arch) is organized in regular pen and paper tests. Going through the JEE Main exam day guidelines will ensure a smooth process during the exam. Such guidelines are prepared by keeping in mind the safety and security of students at the centre in order to prevent them from any mishappening of COVID-19.

JEE Main Exam guidelines are relevant for all candidates as it will enable them to be well prepared and avoid mistakes unwittingly during the exam. Candidates can also refer to their JEE Main 2021 Admit Card to get all the relevant JEE Main exam day guidelines and gain more clarity about the exam day, and can also visit the official website to make themselves aware about the guidelines of examination along with all other essential information regarding the exam centre. JEE Main 2021 Admit Card will be made available on the official website by NTA for all successfully registered candidates and students can download it from the website only. It is essential that all JEE Main 2021 exam day guidelines be adhered to by the candidates appearing for the examination. Candidates can check their Exam Date and Shift on the official website by providing their application number.

Prohibited: In case a candidate gives false information and appears in more than one slot/date of the computer-based examination or appears in both the modes of examination i.e., pen & paper-based (only for drawing) and computer-based examination, then the candidature of that candidate will be cancelled.

Some important guidelines to be followed are given below for all candidates to refer to:

  • All candidates must reach the exam centre at least 2 hours before the commencement of the JEE Main Exam.
  • Documents need to be carried to the exam centre: Along with the JEE Main 2021 admit card, candidates will have to carry a few important documents to the exam centre. Permission to attend the exam will not be granted otherwise.
    • One passport size photograph (As submitted in the online application form of JEE Main 2021).
    • Original valid photo ID proof issued by the government (PAN card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, Aadhaar card with photograph, E-Aadhar, Ration Card)
    • PwD certificate issued by the competent authority (if applicable).
