Machine learning is one of the fastest growing technologies in IT industries. It has huge jobs opportunity in all over the world. According to a recent survey, there is a requirement for nearly 4,000 machine learning and AI programmers in Bengaluru alone and average salary package is Rs. 7 LPA. Individual leaders in AI hiring include Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Accenture, Deloitte, IBM and General Motors which have the most openings for workers with AI skills.
Over the past few decades, size of data has drastically increased. Forbes report says that every minute, 4.15 million users watch YouTube videos, send 456,000 tweets on Twitter, post 46,740 photos on Instagram and there are 510,000 comments posted and 293,000 status updated on Facebook. This huge amount of data is continuously generated by social media, telecom, internet, business applicationsand various other domains, which is stored somewhere in the memory. But data collection is not sufficient, what we are doing with that data that matters most. Then Machine Learning technology came into the picture. This stored data can be analyzed to make intelligent decisions based on patterns and Machine Learning helps to do exactly that.
Machine learning is a sub field of artificial intelligence; it enables computers to learn from data and improve from experience without being explicitly programmed. In essence, machine learning is all about analyzing big data i.e., automatic extraction of useful information and pattern from data and then use this extract information to make predictions and take some decision, decipher whether the prediction was correct, and if incorrect, learning from that to make a more correct prediction in the future. To understand Machine Learning applications just consider you read your inbox in the morning and decide to mark particular email as spam. How would a computer know to do the same thing? Machine learning is comprised of algorithms that teach computers to perform tasks that human beings do naturally on a daily basis.
Nowadays, machine learning is used in all types of industries like retail, medical, banking, manufacturing, social media, healthcare and life sciences, stock market etc. Googleself-driving car, online recommendation engines, spam filtering, weather forecasting, cyber fraud detection are the most common application of machine learning.
Sagar Group of Institutions SISTec is the only engineering college in MP which is offering Machine Learning and Data Science as a regular module for the students of final and pre final year. Along with these regular modules every semester some specialised trainings are organized in which industry professionals are giving project based hands on experience to the students. As a result of all these our majority of students are placed on Machine Learning Engineer profile on average package of 5 LPA.
